Welcome Baby Bunting

Friday Jan 22: our new dinghy arrived all nice and snug in a very large- read “long” box, that JUST fit into Russ’s truck. We opted to buy a dinghy of our choosing  (Achilles HB-315LX ) rather than get the one that came with Ortolan. At 10’4″ it is two feet shorter and weighs 25 pounds less, which may enable us to move it more easily after a blissful island-beach-y day- then oops the dinghy is high and dry- the tide having gone out while we are enjoying the island.

Baby Bunting... where's mama?

Boat choice agonies

It was quite an agonizing decision to find the “perfect” catamaran.  We attended the Annapolis Boat Show three times, chartered twice & spent hundreds of hours searching on-line- can you say “Yacht World?”  The whole concept of the open bridgedeck (cockpit), only enclosed with “plastic” windows was intially a turn-off; we yearned for the traditional cozy cabin.  But as the years went by, we realized that we are cruising to be “out there”, and the Maine Cat’s enclosure still provides protection when needed. We are good with our choice.
