Storm Chasers

Eager to begin our “2-week” vacation- oh – what would you call it?  Just because the rest of the world thinks we’re on perennial vacation doesn’t mean we are. This local waters cruise would encompass (at the least) Cuttyhunk, MA,  Martha’s Vineyard, MA and Block Island, RI.

Ok back to leaving. The rain and threat thereof kept us attached to our mooring several days past our cast-off date, so when Tuesday’s over-sized rain and T-storm blob appeared (key word) to be mostly past us as it moved ENE, we headed off.

Unfortunately the Captain hadn’t received the “TS blob births offspring” memo and as we motored (thankfully) east several vigorous offspring bore down upon us.

Two TS blobs were born and we attempt to not be in the nasty part of either

Fortunately we experienced nothing worse than some moderate rain and distant thunder. Russ also managed to get us anchored in Stonington two minutes before the clouds opened up on us for one last hurrah. Remember, I am the outside girl when we anchor.

Wednesday’s forecast is looking great for a motor-sail to Cuttyhunk.
